Plant Safety Manager

We specialize in supplying high-quality fresh and frozen meat mixtures to manufacturers in both the wet and dry pet food sectors. We create sustainable ingredients and solutions, focusing on effective use of raw materials. We've been around for over 50 years and have a strong international presence with 20+ factories and 15+ offices across 10+ countries 

Position Overview
The Plant Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the safety programs and initiatives within the plant. This role aims to ensure a safe working environment that complies with OSHA regulations and promotes a culture of safety among employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA standards
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance
  • Provide safety training and orientation for new employees and ongoing training for existing employees
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with management to promote safety awareness and improve safety performance
  • Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, and compliance reports
  • Lead safety meetings and communicate safety updates to all staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in safety management within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing a safety team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CHST) preferred
