Senior Archaeologist

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Archaeologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a Registered Professional Archaeologist, have their Masters Degree, and at least 8+ years of experience as an Archaeologist for California-based projects. This role involves serving as a Principal Investigator on projects throughout California, coordinating project tasks to meet cost and schedule objectives, participating in field and laboratory work, providing mentorship and leadership to mid-level and junior staff, and developing new business from referrals or existing clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead as our Principal Investigator on projects throughout CA.
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis of archaeological sites and artifacts.
  • Prepare cultural resources technical reports and documentation for project findings.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Prepare cultural resources proposals and assisting with the preparation of multidisciplinary proposals.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior archaeologists and field staff.
  • Facilitate communication between project stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
  • Assist in the development of project proposals and scopes of work.
  • Develop new business from referrals from new and/or existing clients and assisting with marketing efforts.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8+ years of professional experience in archaeology and cultural resources management.
  • Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) certification is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining to archaeology and cultural resources.
  • Experience in construction monitoring and environmental management is a plus.
  • Proficiency in ethnographic research methods and prehistory is desirable.
